Geometer means when the larvae is inchworm type…
Geo means earth meter means they are measuring the earth inch by inch....

This moth was found dead in our society..
The larvae feed primarily on plants of blackberries (Rubus fruticosus agg.), but also the willow (Salix), वाळुंज broom (Genista), Lythrum Richen (Lythrum), pomegranate (Punica), Ricinus (Ricinus communis) and (Parietaria).

commonly as the tasar silkworm and vanya silkworm
Mulberry silk moth looks different than this, and this larvae is killed inside the cocoon to extract silk. but this perticular wild silk moth, the adult emerges from the cocoon and then the cocoon is extracted for silk production.
This silk moth is feeds on Anogeissus latifolia धावडा, , Terminalia tomentosa,आईन, T. arjuna (Terminalia arjuna)अर्जुन, , and Madhuca indica मोह. trees which are ample on Mhatoba tekdi, but why we are noticing them only this year is the question. And that to they are found dead several(3) times.

they are called slug moth as their larvae resembles to them or Cup moth because of the shape of cocoon.
The Limacodidae family larvae feeds on wide variety of plants, mainly trees and shrubs such as coconut palm (Elaeis, Cocos), banana (Musa, Musaceae), coffee (Coffea, Rubiaceae), tea (Camellia, Theaceae), cocoa (Theobroma, Sterculiaceae), Citrus various (Rutaceae), mango (Mangifera, Anacardiaceae), and rambutan (Nephelium, Sapindaceae).
Near my window I have many coconut, mango, citrous trees for them....

Observation: sometimes this moth seats like half butterfly position, wings not widely open but half fold half open.
We have observed two different sizes of these moths, one was smaller than 20mm. and another with about 30mm wing span.

These moths hold their wings tent like over their bodies
One reason why noctuids are called "owlet" moths is that their eyes reflect a light shone on them at night.
Noctuid moths have an interesting adaptation to defend against bats, their chief predators. a noctuid moth can hear the pulses of ultrasonic sound made by bats, and fly erratically — diving or cartwheeling — right before a bat swoops to get it.
